Photoshop is coming along. It is very extrenuous and I can't find any benifits to using photoshop instead of motion.

I can't figure out photoshop. All the good tutorials on the internet are blocked. I will keep on trying but I might have to reconsider my proposed project. Maybe I will try to make a lightsaber using motion tracking.

I am still planning on learning photoshop.
I had to change an audio clip on the Hawaii video because of the language. The video is now on the DVD and protected by a multiple screen password system that Zack and I engineered.

Photoshop proved to be more difficult than expected. This will definitely set me back a little bit. It turned out the Hawaii video wasn't completely finished so I added to that. It might need a little bit of more work next class.

I want to learn how to use photoshop. For my project, I am going to make a short documentary on a "wild" creature. I will make the creature on photoshop using at least 5 elements. I would also like to learn how to use motion tracking, so I will film the creature doing something, for example: grabing a person, etc.

Worked on the intro to the cross country video. I seems there is no way to fluently manipulate the entire playback speed of the project. It also freezes alot if multiple things are going on.

Worked on intro to cross country video. I have done a partial outside filming requirement on 10/28/08 when I helped to film portions of the Raven Classic.

My contribution to the video announcements is a PSA. I will be working with Wesley. I do not yet know the topic.
I am making very good progress in motion, and developing important skills by messing around with the different features.
I have not done any outside filming but plan to soon.
I am almost done with my commercial, all I need to do is go into the lab and export the sound. Then I can add it to the video in final cut pro.

My new learning goal is to explore the features of motion. I feel that I can't complete any of my other projects without knowing how to use this program. I watch motion tutorials. I am at number 57.

Today I was able to get into the audio lab and despite many dilemmas I was able to complete the voiceover for my character. Next class I will put all the audio together in Final Cut Pro.

I spent today learning how to use motion through the N.E.D. tutorials. I would like to work on my commercial but the audio lab is to crowded. I was able to prepare and practice. my commercial script.

Today I finalized my commercial. I am now ready to do my voice over in logic.
Specific Learning Goals:
1. "Stretchy Arms." Determine how to manipulate the length of a characters arms or legs without distorting the image as a whole.
2. Learn to mask out internet applied logos.
3. Figure out how to smoothly integrate facial components into inanimate objects.
What is my plan for learning this information?
I am going to try to figure out the skills required to meet my first learning goal. I will consult internet guides, motion tutorials, and explore editing programs through trial and error.
How am I going to demonstrate my learning?
I am going to take two weeks, from today, to research my topic. In this time I hope to develop the necessary skills by making several short clips. Eventually I will make a short story to show I have mastered these skills. I hope to completely understand my first learning goal by November.

Today I watched several tutorials for Soundtrack Pro. I was then able to begin substituting sound effects in my commercial. I also got a script for my voice over.
(A referee stands between Mac and PC)
Mac: Hello I'm a Mac
PC: And I'm a PC
(Referee blows a whistle)
(PC Chuckles)
Referee: You may begin
(Referee walks to his play review viewer)
Mac: Why is there a referee?
PC: To be sure you play fair Mac, so you don't go boasting about how Leopard is better and faster than Vista.
(Referee emerges from play review viewer)
Mac: Well I didn't say that, the Wall Street Journal said that.
PC: Well, lets wait for the call.
Referee: After further review, the ruling stands Leopard is better and faster than Vista.
PC: WHAT?! That's a ridiculous call! What are you blind? What’s the matter with you?
(Referee points at PC)
Referee: You’re ejected.
PC: Ejected? You can’t eject me!
(PC, with his back to the camera, wonders away and throws his hands up)
PC: Where am I supposed to go?
Mac: Hello I'm a Mac
PC: And I'm a PC
(Referee blows a whistle)
(PC Chuckles)
Referee: You may begin
(Referee walks to his play review viewer)
Mac: Why is there a referee?

I found a good website for sound effects

I am now editing my commercial in Soundtrack Pro. Mac vs. PC Referee finally works so that is my commercial choice.
Another project idea is to replicate inanimate talking objects like in this commercial

Today I spent all period trying to get the commercial, Mac vs. PC Referee, to work in soundtrack pro so I could edit it. However, after it did not work I had to ditch this commercial and select a new one which did not work either despite everything I tried.
On another note, I want to learn how to remove tags from video clips.

-Manipulating specified dimensions of an object without distorting the image as a whole, for example, extending the length of a certain green-screened characters arms without making motion extremely unrealistic.
